5-College InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

I attribute all that I am to God, much of whose work has been done through my friendships in 5CIV. I owe so much to my peers and staff, such as my first-year Bible study leaders Brayden and Amy, who mentored me as both Christians and engineers.

While I grew up Christian, it was not until seeing so many people living out their faith through day-to-day kindness and genuineness that I no longer just intellectually accepted the Gospel, but wholeheartedly believed it. Now, I’m following their example and the example of my parents by striving to care for and love all those around me. Even though I often fail at that, I believe God’s promise that “He who began a good work in you will see it to completion in the day of Christ,” (Philippians 1:6).

In particular, it’s been a blessing and honor to lead small group Bible studies of my own and share advice with younger engineering majors through the other clubs I help lead, hopefully serving my underclassmen in the same way that I’ve been served by my upperclassmen. I’ve also served through volunteering at places like the Upland Food Bank, and coordinating events such as a holiday care package workshop for local charities.

Here’s a snapshot of some of our activities. In particular, life-changing moments have happened for me and many peers during our yearly retreats to Catalina Island. You can learn more about 5CIV and support our work by checking out our website and Instagram!
